I complained about how much I had wanted that one great family picture on the beach, and then Cooper had a meltdown over a little scratch he got on his finger and then wouldn't let it go, but I forgot to finish that story. While the sweet lady we met on the beach took pictures of Jake and me, Karl went over and talked to Cooper. He talked calmly and kindly to our three year old. He hugged him. He made him feel all better. I hope Cooper never loses sight of what a wonderful daddy he has. I'm not as patient as Karl is, but seeing him in action with our children sure as heck makes me try harder. He leads our family by example and makes us all better. Once Cooper was back to his happy, precious, sweet little self, we tried again for that special photo of our special little family. A priceless souvenir of our first family trip as a family of four.
It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was a twelve year old girl falling head over heels in love with the boy next door, and here we are 18 years later. Unbelievable.

I love this. I know how you feel. We are blessed. Sweet picture. Happy summer- let's get together!
