Last week we had a little snow shower, which is a BIG deal for us! I could not wait to take Cooper out to play in it. My child loves to be outside, and I was sure this was going to be such a fun treat for him. Well, he does like to surprise me. After he got up from his nap, we went to look out the window, and he did get excited about the snow. I got him dressed nice and warm in layer after layer, and we were set! Or so I thought. As soon as we got outside, this happened...
All because I wouldn't let him bring his Gator (powerwheel tractor) outside. It was just too cold and too windy for that. Plus, who needs toys when you have snow?! Apparently Cooper does. He stood there and cried and pouted. His buddy was outside too and was having so much fun (throwing snowballs at me), but Coop didn't back down at first. I was beginning to fear the tears were going to freeze to his cheeks, but then he perked up and started trying to make his own snowballs.
Payback was apparently going through his mind. If his mama was going to stand there snapping pictures of him crying, he was going to take revenge! At first he liked making snowballs and throwing them, but it didn't last. It didn't take him long to just want to be held and then go inside.
Karl was quick to build us a warm fire, and we all (Sadie included...she was shivering) cuddled by the fire, ate a snack, and watched cartoons. Little Man was much happier. I guess he is just truly a summer baby! However, the next morning when Karl got him out of his crib, Cooper immediately started insisting on getting dressed (he typically puts up a big fight on getting dressed). He wanted two pairs of pants on, a shirt, his jacket, his hat, and his gloves. He was ready to go outside and play in the snow! Too bad for him because the snow was already gone! It was a good lesson in seizing opportunities when they present themselves!
