1 Month

Little Man is now 1 month old. Wow, what a month we've had! To kick off the day, he had his first real bath. His umbilical cord stump had finally fallen off a couple days before, and I was happy to be done with the sponge baths. Cooper seemed to like getting a real bath much better than a sponge bath too; well, at least until I washed his hair.
"I sure do have a good looking belly button. And look at my round belly!"

Then he got dressed and posed with his elephant for his 1 month pictures.
Picture #1: "Mom, what is that thing?!"
Picture #2: "She's going to make me do this every month, isn't she!"
Picture #3: "Wait, what else am I going to have to pose with? I've heard there's going to be an old man in a red suit in a few months and an oversized bunny in the spring. This is crazy!"

After that we had pictures by the "Happy Birthday" banner I hung up in honor of this special day (I know...very corny).
"Mom, has this been the best month of your life or what!"
"You wouldn't believe how tiring it is being a one month old. All this eating, sleeping, diaper changing, crying, and picture taking is wearing me out!"

And then we just enjoyed a wonderful game day!
"I love my Crimson Tide!"

1 Month Special Notes:
~Cooper graduated from newborn diapers to size 1 diapers.
~He weighed 9 lbs, 3 ozs and was 21 1/2 inches long at his 1 month check up.
~He started doing real smiles right before he was 5 weeks old (nothing makes me more excited than those little smiles!).
~He's very strong and works hard to push himself up when on his belly and hold his head up.
~Sadie loves him. We were so worried about jealousy, but she has been great. She is very involved and likes to be with him all the time.
~Likes: laying on mine or Karl's chest, taking baths, laying on changing table and looking at the pictures on the wall above it, being held, moving around, his swing
~Dislikes: being in his car seat, getting his hair wet, going for walks in his stroller
~Love/hate: the pacifier-he's starting to figure it out though (he likes the Avent ones better than the Soothies), naps (he is so alert and doesn't want to miss out on anything), and nursing (oh wait, that's me not him! it's getting better though)
~He is sleeping on average 3 hours between feedings at night. I normally feed him at 10:00, in the 1:00 hour, and in the 4:00 hour. He fights going back to sleep after the 4:00 feeding, but eventually he does.
~Greatest Accomplishment: One night when I was changing Cooper's diaper, he peed straight off the changing table all the way to the corner of the rug in his room. Amazing distance! As a former kindergarten teacher, I know how important this is to boys, so my son should be quite proud of this as he gets older!
